To advocate new findings in marine conservation, the Marine National Park Headquarters (MNPH) will organize Marine Conservation Seminars (total 8 sessions), from 10 am to 12 pm in the morning of every third Sunday of the month, starting from March of 2016 and lasting until October. The seminars will take place at the Kaohsiung Metropolitan Park, and the topics will focus on domestic and international findings in marine conservation, along with discussions on important issues of marine conservation. The target audiences are high school (and vocational) students and the public, and the seminars are aimed to promote marine environmental education.

The topics for this year include global changes, fishery resources, marine organisms, important marine ecological systems, marine pollution and marine conservation zones. The MNPH will invite experts to present and guide discussions on these issues, supplementing with showings of documentary short films. Students and people interested or are concerned of global marine environmental issues are welcome to attend the seminars.

The first seminar takes place from 10 am to 12 pm in the morning of Sunday, March 20th. The topic will be “Global Changes and the Ocean”, discussing the impact and effect of global changes on the marine environment, and also featuring an overview on the issues faced by global marine environments and discussion on possible solutions. Subsequent topics will focus on in depth discussion on the important issues of various marine environments.
