The Center for Asia-Pacific Ocean Research at National Sun Yat-sen University, in collaboration with the Marine National Park Headquarters (MNPH) and the Department of Marine Sciences of National Sun Yat-sen University, will organize the “Dongsha Diving Ecological Survey Technical Volunteer Training Camp.” The camp is scheduled to be held on April 12–13, 2014, with the aim of cultivating professional volunteer divers to assist scientists in conducting marine investigations of the rich coral reef ecosystems of Dongsha Atoll.

Applicants must hold at least a two-star or Advanced-level diving certification, have completed enriched air (nitrox) training, possess underwater photography skills, and own underwater camera equipment. Participant selection will be conducted by the Center for Asia-Pacific Ocean Research at National Sun Yat-sen University based on each applicant’s diving experience and qualifications. Registration is open until March 31, 2014. Individuals interested in contributing to ecological surveys in the Dongsha waters are encouraged to contact Ms. Liu Hui-min at the Department of Marine Sciences, National Sun Yat-sen University (07-5252000 ext. 5101), or visit the Dongsha International Marine Research Station website at http://dongsha.mr.nsysu.edu.tw.
