The special exhibition “Hidden Paradise of the Chrysanthemum Isles – South Penghu Marine National Park” is scheduled to be relocated from the National Taiwan Museum (hereinafter referred to as NTM) to the Penghu Living Museum on December 4, 2015, and will run through October 3, 2016. Admission to the museum will be free on the opening day, December 4. In the afternoon, a special Ocean Music Lecture will feature Hong Kong xiao (Chinese bamboo flute) master Tam Po-shek and his wife, guqin musician Wang Yan. This rare opportunity also includes a complimentary South Penghu Marine National Park postcard for attendees. Friends interested in South Penghu Marine National Park and marine conservation are warmly invited to join the event.
Originally exhibited at NTM from August 2014 to August 2015, the “Hidden Paradise of the Chrysanthemum Isles – South Penghu Marine National Park” special exhibition received an enthusiastic response from tour groups and the public, attracting a total of 240,000 visitors. To introduce South Penghu Marine National Park to an even wider audience, the Marine National Park Headquarters (hereinafter referred to as MNPH) collaborated with NTM, the Penghu County Government, and the Penghu National Scenic Area Administration of the Tourism Bureau, Ministry of Transportation and Communications, to relocate the exhibition to the Penghu Living Museum. The exhibition will run from December 4, 2015, to October 3, 2016. On the opening day, Tam Po-shek and Wang Yan will present an Ocean Music Lecture to promote the vision of sustainable marine resource management.

South Penghu Marine National Park is a hidden island paradise located in the southern waters of Penghu, comprising Dongji Islet, Xiji Islet, Dongyuping Islet, and Xiyuping Islet, along with nine nearby smaller islets and the surrounding rich marine ecosystems. The exhibition features seven major sections: “Searching for the South Penghu Islets,” “A Hidden and Beautiful Paradise,” “The Mysterious Basalt Giants,” “Sanctuary of the Hidden Isles,” “The Underwater Ecological Wonderland,” “The Forgotten Splendor of the Hidden Isles,” and “Retrospect and Prospect of the Pure Land of the Chrysanthemum Isles.” Through display panels, specimens, multimedia videos, and interactive exhibits, the exhibition introduces the unique geological landscapes, abundant terrestrial and marine ecological resources, and traditional stone-walled vegetable gardens (cai-zhai cultural landscapes), allowing visitors to appreciate the beauty and diversity of South Penghu Marine National Park.
