Regarding reports that the Chiayi County Rescue Association was questioned by on-site personnel of the Marine National Park while assisting in the search for a missing resident on Dongji Islet, Wang-an Township, Penghu, after investigation, it has been confirmed that the incident was a misunderstanding due to improper coordination. Our office hereby clarifies as follows:

According to the "Regulations on the Management of Water Recreation Activities," the waters of the South Penghu National Park prohibit recreational activities involving jet skis. However, water rescue operations and related training are considered special activities, which are exempt from this prohibition as long as the organizing unit submits a written application in advance. In this case, the Chiayi County Rescue Association participated in the search for the missing resident on Dongji Islet without prior submission of an application. On-site personnel visited the location to understand the situation without prior notification, which is a standard procedure and did not intend to obstruct the association from assisting in the rescue. For any future rescue training or activities conducted by the rescue association, submitting a written application in advance will ensure smooth approval and coordination.
