The Marine National Park Headquarters will host a lecture titled “Our Little Island” on Wednesday, November 30, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, featuring Professor Chang Su-fen from the Graduate Institute of Taiwan History at National Taiwan Normal University. The event will take place in the briefing room of the Kaohsiung Metropolitan Park Visitor Center.
The invited speaker specializes in the collection of Taiwanese historical materials and the theory of local gazetteer studies. Through a narrative perspective, she will guide the audience in exploring the historical development of the Penghu Archipelago and Taiwan Island, highlighting the accumulated local historical records formed throughout their development. Admission to the lecture is free with on-site registration. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Headquarters noted that the “Taiwan–Penghu Maritime Routes Cultural and Historical Lecture Series,” held at Kaohsiung Metropolitan Park from July to November 2016, is approaching its final session. Participants who have collected six lecture stamps during this period may redeem one lightweight waterproof compression bag or one publication from the Dongsha Ecological Field Guide series (Corals, Fishes, or Algae) after the lecture by presenting their stamp card.
