The South Penghu Marine National Park is open for water recreational activities from April to September every year. In order to protect the coral ecosystem, the Marine National Park Headquarters (hereafter referred to as MNPHQ) has increased the number of mooring buoys this year to facilitate the berthing of ships and reduce the damage to coral. The public is invited to visit South Penghu Marine National Park to enjoy the sea and sunshine。
The South Penghu Marine National Park under the administration of the Marine National Park Headquarters (MNPHQ) has a wealth of marine and land biological resources, spectacular basalt landscape, as well as traditional buildings, settlements, and historical culture with local characteristics. Come to the South Penghu Marine National Park and let the bright sunshine help kill off germs, and let the briny sea breeze take you far away from the virus. The MNPHQ opens up the Park for water recreational activities such as snorkeling and diving to tourists from April to September every year, when sea conditions are better. In order to prevent the beautiful coral reefs from being damaged due to the anchorage and berthing of ships, the MNPHQ has set up five mooring buoys in the water recreational areas of Dongji Island and Dongyuping, which are available for tourist boats to berth when traveling out for snorkeling. The buoys are designed in a very conspicuous orange color, and the mooring ropes are thoughtfully made of a floating material with additional small buoys for easy hooking. They can be seen clearly from the cockpit of a boat 500 meters away, making them easily spotted. In addition, the Penghu County Government has specially set up ten mooring buoy berths in the Special Scenic Area for the safety of water recreation and welcomes everyone to use them to conserve the coral ecosystem. The use of mooring buoys will be monitored on an ongoing basis and additional mooring buoys will be installed at other applicable locations。
We welcome everyone to come to the South Penghu Marine National Park to relax and enjoy the immersive sea adventures free from viruses, but please also remember to take pandemic prevention measures and keep your social distance! The opening hours of Dong-Ji Visitor Center and Yu-Ping Visitor Center are 09:00-17:00. If you have any queries, please contact Mr. Lin, Interpretation and Education Section, Marine National Park Headquarters on (07-3601891)。
